Introduction of Environmental noise Analyzer
Background
Measuring environmental noise is a serious work which requires much expense, man power and days. It is influenced by weather conditions and it is disturbed by other noise. In order to support such work, automatic measurement system has been developed.
Automatic measurement
Automatic measurement by the timer starting or the level triggering is available. To perform the automatic measurement, specify a sound pressure level (SPL) at which the measurement starts. For example, if it is set to 60 dB, a noise exceeding 60dB can be measured automatically. Using the automatic measurement, the noise which appears irregularly or moves at high speed like a jet aircraft can be measured easily. Only the required data is recorded and analyzed.
Select the "Automatic measurement" from the Measurement menu, or click the button. During the measurement, sound is recorded only when its level exceeds the "Trigger SPL", that is specified in the configuration window.
SPL is monitored during a measurement. For measuring SPL, microphone's input sensitivity can be calibrated easily using the sound level meter or the acoustic calibrator.
Noise parameter display
Measured data is listed in the main window as below. Max SPL during the measurement session is shown. If the noise source templates have been prepared beforehand, the identified noise source is also shown.
For each data, the time history of calculated parameters will be displayed in a graph and a table form.
Sound source identification
Identification is performed by comparing the template and measurement data which recorded the feature for each noise source. This function has been developed for supporting automatic measurement. Learning function is available to modify the templates to the more realistic values automatically or manually from the measurement result. Basically, a template needs be made from the running ACF analysis before the measurement.
